Build your own treasure hunt
Hide targets outdoors and send the children off. They watch themselves walk across the map — and the map may be one you drew yourself.

🎯Search & find
Targets with a riddle or a QR code, surprises when one is found, and a sonar tick that quickens the closer you get.
The pursuer
Optional: it walks towards you and blocks collecting while it stands there. Brisk walking is always enough — nobody should be running with their eyes on a phone.
🗺️On any map
Hand-drawn, historical, photographed. Your real GPS position travels across that very picture.
What it looks like
How you build a hunt
- Photograph a map, pick one from your gallery, or simply frame a section of a live map.
- Set a few points whose real position you know — with a framed section that step disappears entirely.
- Hide the targets: by hand, or from suggestions of things already standing out there.
- Send the map as a file — and set off.
What else is in it
- points, a step count, a history
- lives — being caught costs one
- AR: targets in the camera view, with direction and distance
- target suggestions: hunting stands, wayside crosses, boundary stones
- challenge: play the same hunt against others
A gift. No catch.
OvARlay is meant to be fun and to get people outdoors — that is all it wants. Not your money, not your attention for adverts, and not your data.
🎁Free
Everything is in it from the first hunt on: no subscription, no in-app purchases, no pro version holding back the best part.
🚫No ads
No adverts and no trackers. There is no analytics service inside the app counting who plays when, or for how long.
🔒Sparing with data
No account, no email address. While you play, your position stays on the phone, and so do your hunts and your progress. A challenge shares a nickname and a result, never a position. All the details
Not only for playing
The same machinery carries more than a children's hunt — from a birthday party to a guided city walk.
🎉Celebrations
A birthday party, a company event or a wedding party: one group, one occasion, fun in front.
🎒Groups out and about
A school trip or a youth camp: discovering a place instead of just being told about it.
🧭A place to explore
City marketing, a holiday region or an open-air museum: not one event, but many visitors, again and again.
